SINGLE CYCLE LANDSCAPES
Real-time audiovisual installation.
Location: Bologna Elettrica Festival, Voxel (BO)
A generative experiment creating 3D assemblies from sound graphs focuses on single cycle sound waveform shapes in real-time. These single cycle waves serve as the fundamental units of a waveform, dictating the tone, amplitude, and frequency of sound.
Through the analysis of two-dimensional data encompassing thousands of single cycle waveforms, the system leverages real-time application of various envelopes and filter parameters to curate sound compositions.
The wave shapes, alongside the parameters applied, are conveyed in real-time to a bespoke software solution. This software, guided by dedicated growth rules, interprets the incoming data, transforming it into generative spatial structures.
The interaction between sound and space creates a dynamic experience that evolves continuously, offering a unique blend of auditory and visual engagement.
This process tries to bridge the gap between auditory perception and spatial interpretation, enhancing our understanding of sound’s impact in a three-dimensional context.
